Piers Morgan has suggested that he could join President Donald Trump's administration as press secretary, following director of communications Anthony Scaramucci's sacking from the White House after merely ten days.

The 52-year-old was asked by TMZ whether he'd be interested in applying for the job, to which he said: "Apparently I'm a red-hot favourite, think I'm on about 8-1 now to be the new Spicy [referencing former White House press secretary Sean Spicer].
"I'm not sure, I don't think Donald could afford me."
The presenter previously claimed to be earning a whopping £22.5 million after he leaked the BBC's salaries ahead of the embargo.

When paparazzi on the scene suggested he was the best person in communications around right now and therefore ideal for the job, Piers added: "You tell Donald from me, as his former winner of the Celebrity Apprentice, for $3 million and a Ferrari, I'll start Monday!"
It's not the first time Piers has made a bid for politics, he's previously threatened to run as British Prime Minister following the damp ending to this year's snap election.
